Subcontract Management – Managing Subcontracts (Procurement) For PMs

This course will provide Project Managers with an introduction to the procurement process as it relates to the project lifecycle. The below topics will be covered during instruction:
Overview of the Procurement process, Responsibility in selecting vendors, When to engage the Procurement/Subcontracts Manager, How to write a Statement of Work tailored for the Procurement (Subcontractor), and Managing the Subcontractors Staff.
Instructor: Michael Leith
Michael Leith has over 20 years’ experience in program management, compliance, and subcontracts across many government agencies. His experiences address areas such as program management, proposal development, procurement, supply chain management, PMO, subcontract and contract negotiations, design issues, Earned Value Management (EVM), acquisition milestones, trade shows, and Capitol Hill product demonstrations. He started his career at TRW (now part of Northrop Grumman), SRA (now part of GDIT), Raytheon, and AECOM; he is now Senior Subcontract Manager at GDIT in Falls Church, VA. He earned his undergraduate degree from Marymount University, MBA from University of Maryland, and his PMP from PMI.
When he is not working, he volunteers as a FF/EMT with the City of Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department or can be seen canoeing and camping with his wife, Carmela, and three children.
This course will be held virtually via webcast. WebEx instructions will be sent to all registrants the day prior to the training.
