Brendon J. Johnson entered federal civilian service as a summer intern in 1990 with the Department of the Army in the Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany). He returned to intern for the Army in the summer of 1991.While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Brendon also completed internships with the Department of State in Paris, France (1994) and Washington D.C. (1995). He graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics -1997. He served 4 years on active duty with the United States Army in various tactical and logistical positions (1997-2001), stateside and overseas.  He re-entered federal civilian service as a Contract Specialist for the Department of Commerce, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 2001. He obtained his first Contracting Officer's warrant and, after various assignments, promotion to GS-13 Contracting Officer. In 2005, he was promoted to a GS-14 position as Lead Contract Specialist/Contracting Officer for the COMMITS and COMMITS-NexGen GWACs. He completed a MBA with a focus in Management Technology with the University of Mary Washington in 2005. He transferred to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in 2006 where he served as Contracting Officer, Team Lead and then Branch Chief. In 2015, he was promoted to GS-15 Division Chief with the Department of Interior - Interior Business Center in where Brendon's divisions provided assisted acquisitions and grants for the Department of the Interior and over 40 other federal agencies - to include the Department of Defense.
 
Brendon is a Pro Vita member of NCMA since 2003.  Brendon holds the following NCMA certifications - CPCM, CFCM, CCCM.  He is also a Paid Up for Life Member of the American Legion, Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).  Brendon completed the Excellence in Government (EIG) Fellows Program in 2006.  He is an EIG Senior Fellow with the Partnership for Public Service.
 
Mr. Johnson currently serves as the Senior Procurement Executive (SPE) and Head of the Contracting Activity (HCA) for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
