Provided below are the bios for Mr. Mek and Mr. Calderon:

Oki Mek, Chief Product Officer - Division of Acquisition

 

Mr. Mek serves as the product owner for the first healthcare procurement blockchain network. Directs the product strategy for a blockchain AI platform that has the potential to save the agency hundreds of millions of dollars. Leads the effort to explore opportunity to cut cost and improve efficiency by targeting acquisition business process, with the emphasis on truly understanding the pain points and issues by using an innovative way of solving problems through the process of human centered design and risk‐controlled implementation strategy.

 

He provides technology strategy that gives Division of Acquisition the ability to build a new business process at a low cost, low risk, and secured business model that empowers the users. Provides secured mission-critical acquisition operations by protecting the business network, securing modernize legacy infrastructure, and redesigning the business process.

 

He provides security expertise for blockchain technology to ensure compliance with federal mandates and legislation, including the Modernizing Government Technology (MGT) Act, President’s Management Agenda (PMA), Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), HHS Security Policy, Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards.

 

Gustavo A. Calderon, President, Acquisition Workforce, Inc. 

Gustavo A. Calderón founded his company, Acquisition Workforce, Inc. (AWi) on January 20, 1998 following 

an experience-rich 13-year career with Bechtel, Andersen Consulting, James Martin & Co, and Ernst & Young. AWi provides Full Life cycle Programmatic and Acquisition Support Services to federal and state agencies and industry. AWi supports mission critical programs with Systems Engineering, Analysis of IT Solution Alternatives, Technology Assessments & Architecture, Process Improvement, SDLC & Process Improvement Methodologies, Cost Estimation, Earned Value Management, Capital Planning, Business Case Development, Performance-Based Requirements Definition, and IV&V. AWi excels in helping organizations turn around large, troubled, and complex IT-enabled projects. AWi also provides training covering the
aforementioned disciplines.


In addition to his three decades of experience in management consulting, advisory services, customer serving
roles, and spearheading consumer product ventures, Gustavo enjoys speaking at International symposiums and conferences on entrepreneurship, business, and technology. Gustavo has also been teaching for thirty years to a myriad of audiences in university, corporate, and government settings topics ranging from technology to the entire curriculum of the Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM).
